A different theme
every year.
For Conoscenda, I create the cover and twelve illustrations every year, one for each month. The planner retains the same compact format, while the theme changes completely from one edition to the next.
Rather than adapting each subject to an established style, I start from the theme, the tone of the texts and the imagery they evoke, building a visual grammar specific to that edition.

This edition is devoted to Ludovico Ariosto and, above all, to the world of Orlando Furioso. To find its visual form, I looked to the tradition of Sicilian puppet theatre, which continues to keep the paladins’ duels, loves, magic and adventures alive in the popular imagination. From there, I developed a folk-inspired, fiery and impetuous visual language through loose, colourful and deliberately excessive painting.
Imagining a future
worth wanting.
Futura umanità grew out of a contemporary difficulty: imagining the future beyond dystopian scenarios. Across the twelve months, the project explores themes such as freedom, peace, rights, knowledge, the environment, fraternity and hope.
I look for symbolic, immediate images that suggest possibility without offering easy reassurance. The visual language is clearer and more controlled than in 2022, while retaining texture, colour and a strong narrative element.

Continuity

The continuity of the project is precisely what makes change visible: the framework remains recognisable, while each theme calls for its own tone, visual language and energy.
